After entering the Old City of Avignon through the City Gate connected to the Pont du Royaume, which crosses the river Rhone, we arrived here at Place Crillon. It was a beautiful place and a perfect spot to start discovering the old city of Avignon. The Palace of the Popes and the Pont Saint-Bénézet, better known as Pont d’Avignon are only a small walk away that takes just a couple of minutes.
This picture shows the City Wall of Tangermünde. Behind the fortification you can find the old city with the church of St. Stephan, which is clearly visible in this photograph.
