This beautiful sandy beach at the Algarve, Portugal, is situated near Lagos. The beach is called Praia do Camilo and is quite picturesque. The rock formations are made of sandstone. This picture was taken during the golden hour with rather changeable weather, resulting in a nice warm picture with even a part of a rainbow still visible.
St. Servatius Bridge – Maastricht
The St. Servatius Bridg (Dutch: Sint Servaasbrug, locally known as ‘Aw Brögk’) is a stone bridge from the 13th century. It is probably the oldest still working bridge in the Netherlands. It connects the old city of Maastricht over the river Maas with Wyck, the part of the city where the train station can be found. This bridge is only for cyclists and pedestrians.

Santorini – Oia at Night
At Oia in the northern part of the Island Santorini, you can perfectly enjoy the sunset. But even after the sunset you have a splendid view on large parts of this great island of volcanic origin. In the foreground lies Oia and along the caldera many other small villages follow, all with a nice view over the Aegean Sea. The illumination, combined with the last natural light in the evening give this picture a special atmosphere.

Rathaus (City Hall) and Dom (Cathedral) in Aachen from the Lousberg
From the Lousberg in Aachen you have a splendid view over the city. In this picture you can see the City Hall (Rathaus) and the Cathedral (Dom) of Aachen. This picture was taken in the evening during the blue hour. The Cathedral and City Hall are beautifully illuminated.
On the Bridge of Avignon – Sur le Pont d’Avignon
From the Pont Saint-Bénézet (better known as Bridge of Avignon / Pont d’Avignon), you have a beautiful view on the old city of Avignon. The Papal Palace is clearly visible. The Pont d’Avignon was built in the 12th century and originally 899m long. It had 22 arches, but only 4 of them still stand and reach into the river Rhone. The Bridge of Avignon once has been the only fixed connection between Lyon and the Mediterranean.
Vrijthof Maastricht
This picture is taken from the Vrijthof in Maastricht, part of the old city and is showing the Sint-Jan Church, Basilica of Saint Servatius and the main guard building (Hoofdwacht).
Avignon at Night – Panorama
This is a panorama taken in Avignon during the blue hour. Night is falling, so the lights are switched on. The bridge in front is the Bridge of Avignon (Pont d’Avignon). Behind it you can see the tracers of the traffic in front of the city wall. Within the city wall you can find the papal palace as a beautiful and interesting part of the old city.
Maastricht Town Hall
The historic town hall was built during the Dutch Golden Age, the 17th century. In 1981 a European Summit took place with Dries van Agt, Helmut Schmidt, Valéry Giscard d’Estaing and Margaret Thatcher and others.
